Cardio With A Weighted Vest???

I think I know the answer to this, but I would like some feedback anyways. I have an older weighted vest I use to use to walk hills with a few years back. I don't have any hills near me now, but I wonder how this would benefit me on a treadmill??? It weighs 40 lbs and I was thinking about adding it into some fast walking or slow hill walking on my treadmill to aid with fat loss and toning up. Anyone else do this or have any feedback as to why I would or would not want to use this vest? Thanks in advance!

just be careful, i hurt my back once with it by bending the wrong way. i used to use it for lacrosse for explosiveness. they work well. a lot of hoopers will practice the whole time with them on.

I have an X-Vest and I really like it. Mine goes up to 80 pounds and I like to wear it for chins. I also wear it when I'm using weights that need more balance, like tricep pushdowns and seated cable rows.

When I do cardio with it, I wear 2 sweat shirts because it rubs the skin and bounches. I'd rather do stairs or walk hills with it. It winds me more than anything.

thanks for the replies guys. I do wear a thick sweatshirt when walking/running with it as it does tend to give blisters in certain spots. Other than winding me, does this do anything but help endurance? I can only use it about twice a week or my neck and shoulders start to hurt.

I've been thinking of getting an 80 pound Xvest. They look a lot better then the old style that just hangs on you But I tell you some of the best training I ever did was running Strawberry Canyon in Berkeley with my training partner on my back. But it was fair the next day he would carry me..
