can't flex my calf.

I can contract my calf. If I was unable to contract my calf it would make walking an impossibility. What I am asking is why can I not flex the left one when I can flex the right one.

man i'll be honest with you, that's a puzzling scenario.

better see a professional for that. i really cant see why you wouldn't be able to 'flex' it.

WTF

see a professional? Are you serious? Anyway, does anyone have any helpful info or a logical explanation. I would also like to make it perfectly clear that I have complete mobility and use of my calf, I have no problems working it out, it is just as strong as the one that I can flex, and again it is the same size.

You can't flex your calf?... um. No clue.

Bro have you ever had a herniated disk in your back? Sometimes a herniated disk at (L4-L5) thats not taken care of could cause minor paralization of calf muscle.

IG I appreciate the response, but once again I must reiterate. This is not an injury, my calf works fine and is fully functional I JUST CANNOT FLEX THE LEFT ONE. For example I flex the right one and it is rock hard and then I try to flex the left one and it is still somewhat soft. This thread may be a lost cause.

So you are saying that when you do calf raises with your knees locked then the both calves work but if you try to flex it yourself it is not the same consistency as your right? Could it be that you have a better mind muscle connection to the right calf. My brother had the same problem but after focusing on really training his other calf it made both of them equal. Do you ever do one leg calf raises to isolate each calf?

Hmm, I could never flex my chest, still can't. :(

No problems with calves or any other muscles though.

I think I know what you're talking about. I can flex my left calf and the inside will actually flex or bulge out whereas my right will not. I've also never been able to get much of a pump in my right compared to my left. I've never found an explanation either. Funny thing is that my right leg is stronger and the one I kick with even though I get a better pump form the left.
