Can't burn CD's with new laptop...

It has a DVD/CD-RW combo drive. I have not been able to burn CD'R's with it. Is it possible that CD-RW's discs are required?

Nope.....says something official about "E (the DVD/CD-RW) not accessible." I wonder if it is only for burning audio? I need it to burn photos.

what software are you using? I'd think any CD writing drive today would write CD-R and CD-RW.

Are you sure that the drivers are installed properly? Maybe the manufacturers fucked it up. Could be the program too.

I just got it yesterday. Guess I'll call the manufacturer, HP, tomorrow and see what they say.

It was easy. Downloaded newest drivers from HP. Burned them on CD and installed on laptop. Works like a champ now.
