Canseco says he'll name names

specter

New member
He's retiring from baseball, mad as hell at being "blacklisted" from the game and ready to spill the beans on AAS use in MLB in an upcoming book.

He says steroids have revolutionized the game and some of the names he'll name will shock everyone.

Sounds like it could be an interesting read, if it ever sees the light of day.

I can understand him being upset, but ratting on players......that sucks. Especially if he used roids himself.

I can' wait for this book..

;)

Can't wait! Is he going to name himself as well? :)

He wouldn't say in his interview on SportsCenter. He dodged the question, but they did show video clips of a skinny little Canseco of the late 80's/early 90's and contrasted it with a buff Canseco of the last several years.

It is an interesting question because here's a guy who probably feels he has a decent shot at the Hall of Fame on HR's alone and you have to think he would disqualify himself if he admitted AAS use. Then again, a tell-all book wouldn't help much either. :)

Just goes to show you....no matter how big you might get (famous and physique wise) you can still be a pussy! I have always disliked him! He was quite a power hitter but he is still a pussy in my books!

Watching baseball is boring as hell even at pro games. I'm ashamed anyone considers it the American Pastime.

But I'd buy his book if he's gonna rat people out for AAS.

anyone not think Sosa juices

how about Brett Bone dude put on 30 pounds in an offseason and can bench of 300 plus...

AAS is big in baseball, no shit

WHO GIVES A SHIT???

I think this may be the first good point you ever made.

I mean... really, whether they've used steroids or not... they can still hit a baseball a fuckload further than any of you... whether you've juiced or not.

It really changes nothing.

I'd be surprised if Bonds isn't or hasn't juiced. Check out the man's numbers the last two years. Put those 2 consecutive years against anyone in the history of baseball and the only one that competes is Babe Ruth.

I stopped following pro baseball in 1990 - but it does seem odd how skinny these guys come in and then how big they get - McGuire, Canseco, Sosa, etc etc.

I do follow track though and the sprinters are always going on about how they don't use steroids or how steroid use is bad - and they can in some ways be telling the truth because they could at the time be using lots of HGH and that is it - so perhaps that is Bonds' out. He is older, yet plays like he is young - HGH can help there - and he doesn't look to have the bloat of Canseco or McGuire.

All in all - I really don't care at all. It is their job to perform to the highest level and I don't give a shit what they do to themselves to get there.

and to say they are cheaters always struck me as funny. they have millions of dollars on the line, and the fans come out to see them do things that no normal person could do - yet when it comes out that they are supplementing with more hormones - everyone calls that cheating. if everyone in the sport is doing it - then it isn't really cheating. if you are the only one doing it - then I would be more inclined to saying it is cheating. (one of the biggest things that pisses me off about the olympics - or at least track - they make such a big deal out of the "cheaters" - yet they are all doing it - it is just a matter of who gets caught - which is usually related to money money money)

I'm sure there is AAS use in all sports yet saying "look they were skinny then and buff now" does not link them to AAS use. Back in the 80's not many baseball players worked out religiously with weights or even had a proper diet.

Now with the salaries they make they have a chance to get a personal trainer to help them with both diet and training. 30 pounds in 1 offseason is one thing but Canseco did not become massive overnight. Same with Mcgwire(who was also a twig). I just find the diet/training regimens today are alot more fine tuned compared to in the past.

well, if he is juiced now and not before it makes you wonder...

juice=.180 avg and 5 dingers???

avoid the gear!!! it fucks with your hand eye coordination.

They're not cheaters. Major League Baseball does not test for performance enhancing drugs. Maybe they all juice when they go to Canada to play the Blue Jays and Expos.

As far as I'm concerned AAS are banned in the MLB not Pro-hormones and Mcgwire wasnt playing in Canada lol

Very true!!! Not to mention the fact that as most anyone gets older they can add more size.

I think all players in all sports should juice..

It isnt "cheating" either.

All sports have evolved.. Not only from AAS, but training, supplementation, rehab etc...

Are the new athletes who have better surgeons tthan the past "cheating" as well?

Maybe once someone has a debilitating injury, that would not have been treatable in the past. they should be labeled as cheaters as well...

Players of the past wouldnt have been able to retrurn, isnt that an unfair advantage too?

And dont give me the shit about it being illiegal.... After all, AAS are LEGAL in your country right?

I think that would give MONTREAL an unfair advantage then..

My favorite part of the year is watching preseason baseball and seeing who is retaining the most water in their faces..

Sammy Sosa is the best in that department.

You are th only guy that I have ever seen who can rival my facial water retention capabilites..

and you do it naturally! Lucky Bastard!

I thought it was already pretty well known that most power hitters are juiced. It's just part of all professional sports now. I met Canseco in person and he is one muscular dude. His forearms are massive.
