by "bringing it across", that would probably be trafficking. it may or may not actually be, but i wouldn't want to find out.

If you get busted at the border all bets are off. If you make it into the country than you should be fine. Keep in mind that what you think is a pesonal amount could easily be viewed as sufficient to charge you with PPT.
