Can you put a good sound system in a Jeep?

I was wondering if I could put a good sound system (Amp, Sub, Speakers) in a jeep?...ive never really seen a jeep with good sound...

wrangler?

My buddy had one, but it got stolen twice. He had a $700 alarm, they are ust two easy to get into.

There is a steel 'trunk" you can buy that bolts in. Also, there is a cargo rack available that goes over the rear area which means no rear seat which is a dandy excuse not to have to carry everybody.

Jeeps get stolen a LOT.

man you dont want to do that. i put a competetion quality system in my wrangler with a hardtop and an avital hurricane II alarm. i even built a sub box for 2 12;s that fit perfectly behind the back seat. i lost over a grand in the deal.

Ok, heres the real deal. Yes you can, although the above warnings are somewhat legit. Road noise is the biggest concern, as are crappy acoustics. I think most jeeps have 4 5x7 all around, but you can get a sound bar that holds two speakers and it mounts on the tubing overhead. I think they are removable. You can put a front firing 10 or 12 sub under the rear seat. It all depends how much you want to spend. Give me some numbers Ill give you some options and dont forget the "k".

heres what i had....

pioneer 6400 in dash reciever

clarion 4x6 in front speaker holders

2 inch tweeters at the junction of the front and back bars on the roll cage (basically in your ears

6 x9 speakers in boxes wedged against the base of the roll cage in the back with horn tweeters on top of them

2 x 12 DVC subs (before fosgate sold out to best buy)

amps-

2 x 75 kicker amp with 4 guage wire and an 80 amp fuse running the rear speakers

2 x 150 bridged to 4 ohms (so it was more than that) mtx blue thunder with 4 guage wire and 120 amp fuse running the subs and the front speakers and tweeters running off the head unit

and ive done a mess of lighting and power outlets for fixing stuff on the trail.

a tip.... if you get subs... lock your back tailgate door, they are impossible to get out if you lock that, since you cant open it witout a key
