can you drink on ckd?

will alcohol raise blood sugar? I figure it will cause it is fermented sugar, but I hope not. So I guess I will save it for the cheat days.


do the amount of calories matter on CKD diet?

From what I can remember, alcohol doesn't affect it (at least not vodka). It's not converted to glucose, but acetate (I think that's the word), and its' burned for energy before anything else. So that's why if you eat while drinking, your body burns the alcohol off first, then the food, but by then the food is around your midsection, and all the girls run from you.

Yup. Alcohol and strict dieting don't exactly go hand in hand...

Being in ketosis will make you a cheap date, though.
