Can you be in love with two people at the same time?

And I'm not talking about naked man boy love of course.

Just looking for opinions. I know there are lots of different types of love of course, like family, friend, lover, emotional, physical, mental, etc. I think back to my university days when I had two girlfriends for over a year and firmly thought I was deeply in love with both of them - one physical and emotional support, and one mental and spiritual support. I always thought if I could put the two together I'd have my ideal woman. Obviously it didn't work out (and that's a whole other thread on good getting busted stories).

You know when you have those feelings where you love spending time with someone even though you have known them for years and you are great friends but you already have someone you care deeply about. And they just happen to both be women. And then the one who's married. Arg.

Remind me to post without having a bottle of wine in me next time. I'm confused.

i dont think that you can be in "love" I do think that u can be in love with one and at the same time love the other. Have deep feelings for one of them yet be in love with the other.

IMO, if there is more than one and it's true love, one will outshine the other and it will become obvious which one is the truer of the two.

I think our capacity for love is theoretically limitless. Usually though when you love someone, your mind is focused on that person & doesn't allow another person to build their case. At least your mind should be.
Think of it like kids. You have one, you love them with all your heart. You have more, & your love for the first one doesn't diminish.
But with both kinds of love, you can focus on bad things & allow your love to be swayed.

Yeah, you can love more than one person at a time. That is why when you fall in love and you feel yourself catching feelings for someone else, you have to nip it in the bud. You just have to think about the person you are in love with and don't put yourself in the situation to get yourself and other people hurt.
