Okay, I looked up vicoprofen. It's not what I got. But it still has the codeine.

I got generic vicodin (codeine + 'tylenol'). I got this for root canal stuff and after an operation. The first time I took it (750 mg), for the infected root canal, it made me kinda groovy/sleepy. When I was taking it 2-3 times a day after the surgery, all I got was constipated. I didn't poo for 6 days. I guess that can be mood-altering. Like the laxative ads used to ask: "Not feeling like yourself lately?"

Yes, prolonged use (7 or more days) of vicoprofen can cause a person to be grumpy and irritable. it is due to the Vica more than the profen... Wife was on Vicoprofen a couple years ago for about 14 days.
