65 inch (diagnol) widescreen TV I need to know the height of the screen only. Just from the inside to inside measurement of the screen. (height)

Thanks. Perkele will hit you up with k for the mesurement.

Mine is 30 inches high. I just wanted to know If it would be a significant upgrade to go with a 65 inch TV. I know it would be W I D E R but the height might not be bigger or slightly.

I have a 50 inch now 4:3 aspect ratio.

Guess who didn't take geometry seriously.

The widescreen is about the same height in my guestimation. You should still buy it and give me your old one.

LOL I don't even know the aspect ratio of the widescreen to figure it out. If I could get some money for my old set, that would be great. It's a BEAUTIFUL set Toshiba Cinema Series 50 inch Has been working flawlessly with great picture. If I could get 5-700 Awesome! I payed about $1700 because I bought 2 of them at the same time, we got a good price. (with my cousin)

Anyone wanna buy a 50 inch? lol I'm trying to dump it to one of my firends. They're all interested but... I don't like selling stuff to friends like that.

Damn bros!!! wtf? OK someone could maybe just figure it out... It's a 16:9 aspect ratio and it's a 65 inch diagnal screen. What size would that make the height?

While you're at it, how about a 70 inch diagnal? lol

Any mathematicians in the house?

Well my TV is 61" 4:3 ratio and it's 36" high. I haven't seen a wide screen that tall which is why I am leaning towards a projector when I finally get a wide screen TV. I am totally guessitaming but I'd think a 65" wide screen would be about 30" high.

Thanks a lot bro! That sucks if I upgrad from a 50 to a 65 inch and would'nt get any larger size height screen. Damn. That's why I was leaning towards the 70 inch.

Your 61 must be huge. lol My uncle has one and I fell in love with it.

I'm really ready to go HD though and can't wait for the 70 inch anymore... it's slightly too expensive and needs to iron out some kinks in it. (Sony 70 Rear Projection LCD HDTV)

It's pretty cool. It's the tallest screen I've seen anywhere period. Most folks just love watching it. I did see a 60 inch 4:3 tv at Sams Club a month ago for a $1,000. So that's the closest I've come across.

I rarely watch TV so this question is uninformed.

Wouldn't a wide screen be worthless for programming done in 4:3? Is a lot of stuff done in 16:9 these days....other than movies?

I don't know the exacts number in the US but I know it's not all broadcasted in 16:9 here. It seems about 1/2 the things I saw on my mom's widescreen this past thanksgiving were stretched, meaning they weren't broadcasting in 16:9.

Yeah it makes people look fatter. lol You don't have to watch them in stretch mode and you would have the black bars on the side of the screen. That's my point, if I went to a 65 inch widescreen from my 50 inch 4:3 screen, it would be the same size! wtf? That's why I was looking at the 70 inch TV.

You can also watch a zoom mode where the pic is'nt stretched but becomes larger so it fits in the screen. Then you get the edges cut off though.

There are more channels coming out that are HD. I get all my locals in HD with an antenna, plus the other Satellite channels in HD.
