Can I get my money back?

I sent a money order which I got from the post office over to a liquid chemical website. Just found out they got busted which means I ain't gettin' anything! Nor my money order back. But can I go back to the post office and claim that the money order was lost in the mail in order to get my money back? According to the receipt on the money order it says I would have to wait 60 days after the purchase of the money order to get my money back. I have no problem with that. But people on this board are telling me to leave it alone. That I could get myself into trouble with the feds just like the website that got busted. Is this true? What should I do?

Did you write something on the money order ? Like "this is for 3 vials of xxxx" ?

Then you've just taken one of their main "weapon" against you. Proving the purpose of the Money Order will be difficult... but not impossible.

I already went to the post office today. The guy told me that I have to wait 30 days before they file a claim. That date will be March 3. What they'll do is have me fill out a paper and then another deptartment will check to see if the money order was delivered and cashed. If it wasn't cashed then I'll get my money in 60 days.
