Can acne ruin a tattoo?

This is a little off subject, but I feel it's gear realted cause I get acne when I'm on gear.

Question is, I'm going to be getting a tat on my right shoulder in a week or two, but I have breakouts on my shoulders often when I'm on. If a pimple pops up in the middle of the tat (a tribal design), can it fuck up the ink and leave a white spot or anything?

tattoo "ink," actually different compounds/ingredients found naturally in your body already (i.e. black = carbon, blue = ah shit i forgot), is deposited by the tattoo gun into the melanin layer of the skin. melanin is the pigment stuff that either swells or shrinks when you get a tan or stay out of the sun. so zits are more superficial in the skin and don't go as deep as the melanin layer, getting zits should not hurt the tattoo at all.

If you get serious scarring from your acne, you might have problems, but typical blemishes do nothing to damage them.
