calculations for 3 point bf calliper test

Any one know what calculation(s) to use to determine body fat when using the 3 point method (chest, abdomen, thigh)?

Don`t know bro. I have the digital 3 point caliper which automatically calculates them. Does`nt really say how. They`re like $30-$40 worth it to get a rough progress idea.

dammit, but I already spent $20 on callipers, why didn't some one tell me about the digital ones before!!!!!!!!

Digtial one or only around another $10-20 more.

I have a new device that measures body-fat from remote locations...

It says: YOU ARE FAT......

Get back to work and stop playing with toys... fat boy.

I'm sorry but did you see "retard responses welcome" anywhere on the thread title?

You owe me buddy... I just dervied this:

[(chest skinfold)+(2*ab skinfold)+(0.25 thigh skinfold)] / 0

Jackson-Pollack equation:

1.10938-0.0008267(sum of three skinfolds)+0.0000016(sum of three skinfolds squared) -0.000244(age) = body density

(457/Body Density) - 414.2 = Body fat Percentage

Let me know if you have questions.

which method? Why three point? The more sites the acccurate
not nescessarily looking for accuracy, just a track of progress (or lack of). I plan on doing this on myself, by myself every Friday morning. Can't do the seven point method by myself.

you serious or kidding? My actual bodyweight is not taken into account?

Yes, that is the calculation for a three site skinfold (chest, ab, thigh).

Once you figure out you BF% you can take that number times your bodyweight to find lean weight and fat weight.

Ex. 200lb man has 15% BF

200 X .15 = 30lbs of fat

Jackson Pollack was an artist, wtf does he know about bf equations!

Cant believe I didn't notice that earlier

who you referring to? Check the ACSM guidelines. They give many examples and proper locations. I would tell ya but I'd have to dig it out and it is not worth it. What calipers you got. I have Lang. Kinda pricey. But it came with guidelines and a chart.
