I found the following article this morning and thought it important to share.
It basically says that people who were at risk of liver damage because of preexisting conditions and when their intake of caffeine was measured, those who drank more coffee or sodas were the least likely to have liver problems. I recommend tea myself as it has more proven polyphenol benefit for the heart and against cancer.
