The half-life of caffiene is more or less 6 hours depending on individual clearance, so yes, I would expect that it would have a small effect on the post-workout shake, probably negligible in the long run when you consider the boost that ECA/NYC give you during the workout. Good tradeoff.
The point I was really trying to get across is that caffiene has no place in a carb-up day, which by definition means large amounts of carbs and calories consumed. You want insulin sensitivity to be highest when you eat like that.
