Buying Clothes on Ebay

chewyxrage

New member
I've done this a couple times - for cheap shit.

I know people like ZK do this alot -

do you guys have any tips? What to look for? How do you tell what will fit well? How do you tell if the item will be in decent shape? etc.

Thanks--

ebay is becoming WAY too mainstream for clothing, kinda sux. I see jeans going for more on there than they do at good retail locations. Be careful and don't buy shit unless you've tried on an identical item in store. Most of the shit on there is refurb. I do more selling than buying however...

Does anybody have any experience buing suits on Ebay? I'm in the mood for a pinstriped Versace, and since the price was good...:D

What does refurb mean

lol zk i know you've posted this other places but what online retailers do you use?

Ditto. ZK lay out some of the Ebay stores on here.
Me personally I do buy clothes on Ebay, but for example I try to stay away from Thai, Singapore, Hong Kong retailers - those counterfeit capitalists en masse generally :o
And always always as ZK noted you should try on the desired clothes/etc at retail locations, for pictures/images always look extra nice and extra flashy.
A good idea is also too look at the feedback of the seller - I tend to look if it's 1000+ replies and at the rate of 99.7+ positive comments
I bought some Armani, Prada, Guess thingies on Ebay and it was great so far :o

I bought one once, it was really nice and fit perfect. YOu just have to make sure that the measurements they give are the same as what you wear. Don't just by a 46L or whatever, because they are all different. Use your suit size to search, but then look at what they list for; Shoulders, Length, Arms, Chest, etc.

The chest should measure around 3-6 inches (depending on the fit you want) bigger than your actual chest measurement, for example. Measure a suit that fits you and then you will have a template for ordering. Same as with shirts.

I've just bought a suit at a local store, and had to get one size for jacket and a smaller size for pants. I guess that would be difficult to get through an online store :)

Dunno I have friends who sell fake stuff all over the US on ebay.. Hard to do..

Anyone on here actually sell some stuff on Ebay that can help me out sell a few things?

I don't buy enough on there to warrant handing out valid advice... you can usually do okay with jeans or anything you have tried on elsewhere... but I would NOT recommend suits. Hit up off saks or nordstroms rack for suits dude... or just buy post season.. I got a d&g suit for 800 post season at the rodeo Dolce and Gabbana store... can't beat that ANYWHERE>

I just bought myself an armani, which cost quite a bundle. 2 days later I saw almost the same suit 70% cheaper on Ebay. This was my first visit on Ebay, so imagine my surprise. I almost ended up buying two more just for kicks. Luckily I managed to restrain myself.

The problem is that most of the good stuff on Ebay is not available where I'm from. Like Kenneth Cole, never heard of it before, but the shoes look great, and at 20-30 % of the price if it where available.

lmfao.... why the hell.....

Well went to store.. saw jacket.. was like have to have its great.. on clearance for like $250.. didnt have size.. Called Madison ave store and luckily they had there.. So trekked uptown (which is rare for me) went to store.. trying the jacket on the sales person was NICE =( enough to show me pants that matched the outfit.. I thought so cheap! How can I go wrong??!? I have NEVER worn.. I actually put them on ebay and someone wanted them. Unfortunately.. the person lived across the street from me and wanted to try them on first.. Of course was too small. Cant donate b/c cant get that much value from them

I bought a Hugo Boss suit from ebay a year ago. Good price but the fitment was horrible, resold it on ebay as soon as I got it. Best advice is to try the suit on in person at a retail store and then buy it.

I'll usually just buy underwear because boxers are very expensive to buy at retail. I'll buy brands that I've worn before. I never buy jeans or pants though because even if they're from the same brand, they change a lot. But overall I've always had great experiences buying clothing from eBay. Way cheape fo-sho..
