Building Next Door on Fire

The building my office is connected to is on fire. It's a roof fire. We're not being evacuated????? And my boss isn't having our programmer perform an emergency back up of data. On top of that he isn't telling us to leave until the fire is out. I love working here. The streets around are all blocked off and you can't even walk down the sidewalk....

LOL. I'd be happy with just going home for the day. The smoke smell is getting irritating. I can't believe the police or fire dept hasn't evacuated our building. They're just like I don't think you need to leave... yet a major city street is closed and we are closer than the street.

Better hope that the wond doesnt pick up or change direction :)

Well... the fire is over. The smell remains. I'm still shocked that our boss didn't tell us to leave until it was done. I can't believe he didn't back anything up just in case. Whatever, obviously I work with retards.

I tried to give your employer the benefit of the doubt before. But now I am starting to agree with you. The dude must be a total idiot.

There only 15 of us here, so it wouldn't have been too hard to say "Why don't you guys leave just in case and I'll call when it's done." We could've all gone to the coffee shop or hung out at people's apartments that are close by. If this were my business I would have done it as a precautionary measure.
