Bought a new HDTV today

Well I've only seen it in stores. I think it is okay for the price, but who knows what they are running on it in the stores( coaxil, component, or HDMI cables)? That makes a difference in picture quality. Are you going to get the HD DVD add-on for the x-box? You should check out avsforum dot com. They have a specific forum for LCD tv's and a pretty long thread on Westinghouse.
Just watch out. I was looking to buy a flat panel. Once I got into researching for one I ended up buying a tv, xbox360,hd dvd, 5.1 surround sound system, and a sub. lol
I spent well over $7,000, but it was all worth it. I love it. I just don't play the xbox that much.
Good luck with the lcd. I hope you enjoy it.

High Def TV rocks. I've had mine for over 2 years and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't play video games but I would guess they are spectacular on an HD set. My TV is a standard tube TV which is bulky. One day I plan on upgrading to plasma.

Ive already got the surround sound sub and xbox360. I know the cables are crappy and split 15 different ways in the store so a solid cable should work for just my tv.

I have found that crap connections are best for crap picture quality.

I have hundreds of old videos from the 80's. They look OK with a cable (worst connection). They look horrible with HDMI!

Get component cables for it. The HDMI visually only makes a marginal difference if the tv is 1080p capable. I have HDMI hooked into my 1080i but I wasn't aware of this at the time. My PS3 still looks great on it though.
