It's like running in place. You're doing something, but you're not getting anywhere. I'm working somewhat hard in my job (it's difficult to work hard when the job is easy), yet I've had no promises of future raises and such, nor have I even had a single bonus in my year and a half working there despite the fact that the company is still alive solely because I decided that quitting wasn't a good idea. Where's my motivation?

Yes. I'm contemplating playing online Blackjack to make a few thousand dollars and buy myself a vast array of material possessions that always cheer me up. So far I'm looking at:

DVDs - Godfather trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy, Titan A.E., Masters of the Universe (yay!), and several others.

Some new shoes... a new chair... some Java reference books... and POSSIBLY a 40" widescreen HDTV if I can find a way to fit it in my room.

The day I wake up next to my perfect wife, look at the clock and say: "Oh shit... I'm late for work" and suddenly remember "duh! I retired 5 years ago!"

Yes we got caught and had to pay for and put the new mailboxes up....that cost me a months worth of grounding between jr and sr year of HS.

DUI lots of times but never caught, or wrecked...and for that I thank God every day.

Way too many to list......Tom Clancy, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum, etc.. that type of stuff....very few non-fiction books.
