Book Review: Chasing Lance by Martin Dugard

I guess this review depends on what you want out of this book. I bought it because I think it's the only Lance related book I haven't read. What I wanted out of it: a quality read that focuses on Lance's final Tour de France and, more specifically, in depth commentary on each race stage and insider knowledge of the inner workings of the peloton and Lance's approach to each stage.

What I got out of it: WAAAAAY too much history on the city/area each stage was in and WAAAAAAY too much focus on the author's experience during the Tour and his personal thoughts.

overall, it was the worst of any Lance book I have read. Also, I'm sure you fuggin juicers really care about all this.

LOL. My mind is full of stuff, trying to organize everything this weekend. I'm behind in my reading. I still haven't read Harry Potter, Catch-22, and other books on my "to read list."

I am attending a free show next weekend & a jazz show later this month at the Kennedy Center. I figure if I can't stimulate my brain with fun reading, I can appreciate the arts.

Okay, I have to get back to cleaning out my closet.

2 things:

a) my next book review is going to really piss you off as well as the other chicks here

2) no response to that amazing and very unKBlike PM???

Id like to be able to finish a book. I always start it, get all into it for a time, and then either skip to the ending or just move on to another boook completely leaving several books left unfinished:
"A Mind at a Time" by Dr. Mel Levine
"Twisted" The Collected Stories of Jeffrey Deaver
"Dress Your Family in Courduroy and Denim" by David Sedaris
"Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides (just started this one)

Although I did finish Striptease by Carl Hiassen, The Murder Artist by John Case (I read the ending first on this one though), and Shopgirl by Steve Martin.

I have the reading comprehension skills of a retarded 6 yr old.

I'm reading State of War
The Secret History of the CIA and the Bush Administration

Written by James Risen....the guy who broke the wiring taping story too

A) Well, if its going to piss me off then it must be something. What is it? Is it an easy read? How many pages? I would like to know something about the topic so I am prepared.

B) I read it. I will type a response today. It will be long one and just as revealing (about me). Being a woman, of course, I will state my opinion.
