Body Fat testers????

Anyone use those body fat testers that look like a mini video game...white and blue with 2 silver tabs that you put your thumbs on? You enter your height, age, weight and then it reads your BF. I am 6' 234lbs and 25yrs. You can see my six pack and the thing said I was obese with 38.4% BF. Anyone know why my reading is so far off?

Ye some are inaccurate. I have one for using with clients and it says Im 23%. The callipers say Im 15-16%, so as long as they are consistent and you know how many % its reading high, you can get a quick idea of yur bf%. Not the best I know. And those Tanita scales are useless, says Im 30%. Im fat but not that fat....am I!?!

but it says I am obese? I mean my bf has to be near 10% and it says 38%....anyway to cheat these in my favor?

Posted this same question a few days ago, I am a solid 9% Bf, you can see the veins in my obliques and abs, I do have a nice ass for a man, so maybe thats it...

Yeah but here is the deal...I have a bet with a co-worker that I can lose twice as much BF anyway I want and he only does cardio and diets. This damn thing has my BF going up each of the last three times we tested it.

7-site skinfold measurements with calipers is the way to go. Quick and easy.

I have other ways of testing my BF...my bet is with the one we have in the fitness center thta says I am getting fatter...I have to be doing something wrong if that thing feels my BF is 38%.

If you are not properly hydrated your bodyfat will read high when using bio-electrical impedence. Make sure you are well hydrated before using it.

Better yet, just have someone measure your BF with calipers.
