blood in urine

Has anybody had this problem?
4 years ago, I go to the doc for a check-up. They found trace amounts of blood in my urine. The next thing I know, I am being tested for kidney stones. The test came back negitive and nothing ever came about it...............lately I have had major lower back pain....(pinched nerve). I also had to pee like 20 times a day.....1 gallon of water a day is what I consume. Yesterday, I return to the doctors and the same test shows blood in my urine. I guess it has been going on for 4 years or more. Any ideas what it could be? Waiting to get my blood test results back.......does not make life any easier. Thanks all........JEEP310

Sounds like my Dad in his youth and my sister recently. I'm not sure if she had blood in her urine, but she had lower abdominal pain. Dad had the blood and the stones when he was in his early 20s. Both have polycystic kidney disease. My Dad has had a kidney transplant and is now waiting for another kidney. My sister will have to have one probably 15-20 years down the road (when she's in her 40s). Ask you doctor for an ultrasound if thinks there is any possibility that you may have kidney disease, especially if there is a history of it in your familly. Polycystic kidney disease is genetic, but I don't know if it is exclusively a genetic disease or not so ask.

It could just be a kidney infection or a small kidney stone that is causing the blood. A small amount drop of blood can make think you are going to die. (as it looks like you are pissing pure blood). You did the right thing you went to the Dr. He will sort it out. I have had kidney infections and Kidney stones (btw, I'm 25). So I know what it is like to see blood in your urine (scarey as hell).

It's been going on for 4 years though.....so I know it's not stones. They checked my glucose level (81) and said it was ok....Also checked my eyes and was ok there too......I belive they are trying to rule out diabeties.

I had the exact same problem, and it was a urinary tract infection. I got it from sitting on a plane for 7 hours, then on a train for two and a bus for another 3 all in a row. You can also get it from wearing tight panties (or tighty whities, whichever you prefer) for a long time, or a bathing suit. Sex also doesn't help. I went to a doctor in the U.K., and he prescribed some antibiotics and told me to drink a lot of cranberry juice, and it cleared right up in three days.

Everyone who I know who has had one has been prone to them more then someone who hasn't, so you may have had it on and off for a few years. When I had it, I also had to pee all the time, I had blood in my urine, and it was very painful. I also felt like I had to pee constantly. No lower back pain though.

Hope this helps!

Jeep wears tight panties.. and he has sex with small animals. I think he has a yeast infection.

You can also get a UTI from eating Pizzones (tm ) or from having sex with a Pizzone (tm).

I got to go to the doctor then.

Dballer........"YOU BASTARD" bah!

btw..........can you get a yeast infection from filling a hot tub with
Champaign?

No, but you can get one from filling a hot tub with yeast. Bling Bling.

Hey dballer, can you post that pic of you and me eating a p'zone? (I'm on the left, and dballer's on the right.)

Get your prostate checked.

I'd have to agree with FD. My grandfather had this same problem for quite a while and it was both his prostate and his bladder. I'm not going to tell you what he had because it's a worse case scenario and it's not worth worrying you over.

Hematuria (blood in urine) is nothing to play around with, though. You seriously need to talk to your doctors about it and see what they can do. It could be as little as something like a UTI or as serious as bladder cancer.

If you have had no pain with your urination, though...you probably shouldn't have too much to worry about. Hope I helped you out some.

Good luck!

Jeeps....switch to boxers dude!!!

Maybe it's menses...I didn't know what it was my first time either. :D

jk, hope it's nothing serious. ;)

yeah man it aint as bad as it sounds (a prostrate exam) :D

just get em to do them tests on it

You won't have any pain. I'd almost bet my bottom dollar it's your prostate. No big deal most of time. Increased testosterone will increase the size of your prostate. Mine was more than double the size it should have been last fall. I was on 600mg of prop. 600 mg of EQ. I've not touched gear since.

The doc will stick his finger up your pooper, and it will hurt like hell. He'll then more than likely put you on antibiotics to get rid of the swelling. Best wishes!!

But I LOVE wearing sexy lace panties.........as far as a fetish goes, I didn't think it would hurt anyone.

back pain might suggest a prostrate also i think?

they can just enlarge. just make sure the doc has some KY to hand:D

Yeah, I'll have to say the same as Nightfly...sorry about being so silly, I really hope everything is ok. :(

(I'm still very feisty, however. )

I hope it's not your prostate...you are still a young fella jeeps! But even if it is, it may not be so bad, my father had a slight scare with his prostate, but everything's ok now. Just need to watch it and be alert to any signs of cancer, and eat and live healthy.

When you be getting your results back?

Next week sometime......will let you all know.
Did a little family history and found out my grandfather died of kidney failure due to diabetes. I am getting nervous........but like with all things...I'll take it out at the gym......thanks all

I was back at the docs again today (different doc) No bllod in urine today, but he did request that I see a urologist is any pain persists. Other wise he says I am ok
Thanks for all of the help........all of you are great.........well most of you anyways....

glad to hear you're feeling better.

Have you ever seen that James Dean movie with James Franco in it? It's great, I love James Dean.

Do you run at all. I had traces of blood in my urine back when I was in Highschool. The doctor said it was proably due to running- it happens at times. You might have a kidney/bladder infection too though.

I urinated blood once...when I was about 15. I used to compete in Martial Arts and was training in Clarksville. I was determined to kick this guy in the head (he was 6'10"). I nailed him a time or two and got too fancy. I went to spin to throw a wild kick...and he kicked me straight in the back. Tore a few muscles across the left side and bruised my kidney.

Got some meds...but you need to get checked out ASAP.
