How to lighten/bleach hair with peroxide only?

I applied for 15 minutes...nothing happened (black hair)
what kind of peroxide are you using (volume 20, 30?) either way, 15 minutes wouldn't be enough, and if you have black hair, peroxide alone will not be sufficient. you should get a bleaching kit... peroxide alone will probably make your hair end up with a reddish/orange color. your best bet is to buy a bleaching kit, which will include all you need, the right amount of peroxide, bleach, conditioner, most have toners too... so that your color doesnt get the rusty orange color. don't keep trying to bleach it with peroxide alone... it will only damage your hair and won't give you the results you want, so your going to have to keep processing it causing more damage. do it right from the beginning
