Blade III Trinity. (trailer)

The 3rd installment will make the proportion of revenue that the second one did, which is to say it won't be a hit.

Blade II grossed only 10 million more than the first.

And I will be surprised to see it make 92 million. I think the viewing public's attention span for the Blade series is expired.

I predict it will gross 70 million or less.

vampire movies are cool, and a great idea...

I love vampire movies (at least in theory-until they fuck up the idea when they actually make them)

wesley snipes is geigh...
jessica biel as a vampire hunter is geigh...
some no name dude as "king" vampire hunter is geigh...

this movie looks geigh...

but I will rent it when it hits blockbuster.

I agree.
I like the idea of vampires, but none have recently lived up to the epic feeling of the myth.

Van Helsing. Sucked.
Blade. Eye candy, but lacked the feel.
Queen of the Damned. Totally lacked the flow of the book.
Interview w/a vampire. Very good IMO.

Van Helsing - Didn't bother to see it, and probably won't rent it - GEIGH
Blade - Really just an action movie in vampire wrapper - GEIGH, but I will watch for the action parts
Queen of the Damned - Didn't bother seeing this one either...
Interview w/a vampire - I agree, it was pretty damn good.. Would have liked a part two of that shit
-Dusk till dawn is another one that is pretty good entertainint, but more action/weird shit in a vampire wrapper again...

-I also kind of liked the one with gary oldman and kenu reeves that came out back in like 92... (by chance it was the first date I went on with my most significant HS gf... LOL)

-I think there was one called Near Dark or something that had a vampire in it that wore spurs or something... I think a young bill paxton was in it... I don't remember much about the movie but I think it was the first time I thought vampires were cool... I was pretty little

-Lost Boys was pretty sweet, tho somewhat laughable... I wanted to move to CA and look for those dudes after that...

Hands down, my favorite vampire flick was Salem's Lot, the original.

Lost Boys was good. But that's as dark as the 80's ever got, it was beyond the scope of people then to enjoy a dark movie. A re-make of that would rock, get Sam Raimi to do it.

Yeah lost boys was too 80's pop (the dudes wear pink shirts for gods sakes)

-I might see Salem's lot since you say it is so cool, and I pick up Queen of the Damned just for the fuck of it while I am there...

The one that had the most potential to kick ass IMO was that "underworld" one...

wasted potential is the saddest thing ever...

No doubt, Underworld was the biggest "coulda been". I had tons of potential.

BTW, did you ever see the TV show The Kindred?
I have the series on DVD (it was just a pilot season), but it's pretty cool in a Vampire Lite sorta way.

Salem's Lot is a classic. Barlow is the man.

With 75ths vote that is 2 for salem's lot - the priority has stepped up to "picking it up on the way home" so I don't forget....

Never saw the kindered - can it be found at BB?

We were going to make a vampire movie in college, I had a roomie (girl) who was a film major... we had lots of sweet ideas... was going to be lots of "implied" rather than demonstrated action.... little talking (cause most of em fuck it up that way)... damn I wish we had done that...

I have rented the Kindred DVDs at BB.

But after renting the first couple episodes, I just eBayed the season.

Has anybody seen the tv-show Ultraviolet? It's a british 6-part mini series with a more scientific approach to the whole Vampire myth.

It's available for download from suprnova.org, and I highly recommend it. Don't know if it's out on DVD. You can read a bit more about the show here: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Ultraviolet_(series)

Another good 80s one is Fright Night. Kinda cheesy, but it's a pretty cool vampire flick.

totally agree. i liked interview w/a vampire a lot, very well done IMO. though the slightly gay scenes where somewhat disturbing, and kirsten dunst was annoying as hell.

The thing that you guys gotta remember here is that Blade is a comic book movie first, and a vampire movie second. I'm not a huge fan of the comic by any stretch, but that's the sort of mythos you're going for.

I saw Kindred, which was based on White Wolf's Vampire the Masquerade...thought it was okay, but they weren't true enough to the source material, IMO.

bram stokers dracula was cool...l liked it anyway

underworld was good but had the potential to be much better

vampyros lesbos was frankly dissappointing and only mildly sexy

ultraviolet was a pretty f-ing cool tv series, wish they made more

Code and becoming you both listed some pretty cool vampire flicks. One you missed that was good was the one where the vampire would fly a small engine plane into small airports and kill the people at the airports. A reported was sent to investigate the case because he had a small plane and it turned the reported was the vampire. Cool movie.

Did anyone see that TV show Lou Diamond Philips did with the werewolves? It was only on for a few episodes but it was awesome. I know it aint vampires, but to me that one hit the right mix, dark but not cheesy/

Has anyone of you seen the movie "the vampire journals", or something like that? I've just downloaded this one, and I'm curious if it's any good. Probably not, since I've never heard of it, but you'll never know.

I wanta say it was called night flight or some nightflyer or something. It was really creepy. A vampire movie that was actually pretty scary which doesn't happen very often.
