black and brown beans...

black beans are real good!

very low GI index and tons of fiber.....they taste good with almost any meal too.

Beans, in general, are a great source while bulking, maintaining and cutting. They are LOADED with fiber and complex carbs. Black beans are EXTREMELY popular in Central and South America and are called frijoles negros. You really can't go wrong with most beans :D

canned is processed, hence the sodium. Normally, the bag ones need to be put into a pot or cup and covered with H2O. About 4-6hrs later, you can toss them in as stove and cook...Proteinfiend, buy a stove :D

Whats the difference between canned and bagged? Whats the best way to cook the dry ones? (I dont have a stove)

Bagged ones are a bit healthier (since less processed) but canned beans are so much more convenient....

Just don't try the baked beans (they add fat and sugar)

you're right!

let me just take out my bed... and ill throw the stove in the corner of my dorm room where my bed used to be :qt:

but damn.... 4-6 hrs is a long time...

I like buying cans of white, black, kidney and garbanzo beans and making a bean salad. Add some olive oil and some chicken breast or sometimes scramble the beans with egg whites.

good shit.

There is already some mixed canned beans .... :)

BTW you also add lentils

I cook mine in a crock pot. You should invest in one protienfiend.

Crock pot's are awesome, though a bitch to clean sometimes...

Proteinfiend, as you're in a dorm, isn't there a centralized kitchen on your floor? Lentils are another SOLID choice
