Biopsy Finally Taken!

Good news! Finally had a biopsy taken today on a skin condition that I've been getting on my face, nose, and eyelids now for over 8 months. Not one single doctor or dermatologist has taken the problem seriously until now. The conditions have exacerbated continually now since the start and until today have just heard opinions and "it could be so, and so, and so". Nothing that has been done for it in over the past 8 months has been able to clear it. Been on numerous antibiotics topical and oral. Been on corticosteroids orally. And even was prescribed anti herpes medication orally. Although conditions might briefly alleviate initially the flare ups come back even stronger when regime is finished. Possible causes could be bacterial (Staph), viral (herpes or pox related), fungal, or just cloggage of the eye ducts and glands? My new dermatologist is going to get the shit figured out though finally. She is a godsend. Asked numerous questions and wanted to do a biopsy on the spot without me even asking her to do so. Said the tests should hopefully show the cause but even if it comes back inconclusive she was going to have me meet with a boardroom full of physicians to have the condition analyzed by numerous university physicians and dermatologists. Now I'm just hoping that I haven't totally screwed up my immune system from all the years of anabolic usage. A highly possible cause of the problem could possibly be a virus called Molluscum which usually only affects adults with suppressed immune systems typically due to HIV or AIDS. Now that even freaked me out more. Now I'm thinking about running to the neighborhood pharmacy and purchasing a home HIV test kit to make sure that isn't an issue. So I guess I finally have the hopes of some good news, but still a little freaked in the process.

Sounds good bro...you probably should have done this a LONG time ago. Having that shit for 8 months must have sucked moose dick.

Glad something is finally being done about it...hopefully it's nothing big, and you won't need to be examined by a room full of university dermatologists. You know it's bad when it takes a room full of docs to figure out what's wrong with you;)

I still think it's that resistant form of stpah though...I forget the name of it, but I read a couple studies on it...and it sounds similar to what you got goin on.

Anyways...when do we hear the results?

:)

On a seperate note...where in asia/europe are you? I thought you lived in the states, until I read your location.;)

Good luck flex..You know sometimes we look to dr's for the answer and they just dont have it (of course they wont admit that to you) but at least you werent afraid to get other opinions and perhaps you've stumbled on a wiser Dr. that will help solve you probs..get well bro!!!

what exactly does the condition look like on your face?? I have gotten some red spots around nose and cheeks and have had it for a few months now. Nothing has worked to clear it up either. gets all red and itchy....grrrrrr

Thanks again for all the support and encouragement guys (muscleup, TheRide, Bulldog_10, wnt2bBeast, BIGJAKE). It is truly appreciated!

1. Yeah, no shit!

2. I'm still kinda leaning this way too, but not really totally sure anymore. It's called an MRSA which means methicillin resistant staph aureus.

3. I will know in 7-10 days. Hopefully when I go back next week to have the stitches removed they'll have some answers for me, but if not soon thereafter.

Thanks bro!

Around my eyes (upper skin of the eyelid and lower skin of the eyelid are getting small to large pimplish looking bumps that have pus or seepage in the middle surrounded by inflammed, irritated, and extremely sore red skin surrounding it). Can be anywhere from 1 sore at a time to I've had up to around 50 at a time. Usually alot worse on my left eye for some reason.

Around my nose, bridge of my nose, and on the bottom of my nose, I will get sort of acne like pustulars and lesions except it's not your typical acne look. Very big, filled, and nasty. You could squeeze to expel the insides but sometimes they'll just leak out on there own. These come and go in spurts.

Around my mouth I will also get reddened spots which usually get a localized pus head which can be wiped off and leaves nasty red and scabbed up skin. These also come and go.

So, that about sums it up. So far every physician and dermatologist I've seen doesn't know exactly what is causing it just by examining it, that's why I am so thankful that a biopsy was finally taken.

Flex were you on gear when this started? and if so what were you on? Good luck brother, keep your spirits up!

Flex my old roomate got Mosculla contagia-which looks like herpes (open sores that ooz) but he got it on his genitalia not on his face. It is rather rare but very curable. That sounds like that could be the same, and it is possible you could have caught it it by going down on a girl. M-contagia usually last 1-12 months and ounce it is cured it is gone for good, unless you were to catch it again. My best friend is a pharmacist and his research came up with using 400 mgs of tagamet (anti acid) and venerial wart cream EOD; it worked. It was cleared up in 1.5 months. I cant imagine having those sores on your face, I hope this helps. GOD BLESS YOU BRO!!!!!

Thanks for the reply man! This is actually one of the viruses that I am leaning towards right now. The doc will be checking for molluscum and other viral or bacterial activity. I've narrowed it down to either MRSA or molluscum from my own research, but hopefully I'll find out the exact diagnosis soon enough. It has definitely been a nightmare bro. Dropped from 205lbs down to 175lbs right now because of all the depression, stress, and anxiety. Worried about the whole molluscum thing on my face too if that is the case because from what I've read it usually only affects the face of adults if they have some kind of immune disorder or immunosuppression namely HIV or AIDS. I'm just hoping that if this is what's going on my immune system is just out of whack from all the years of AAS use. Thanks for the feedback.

flex, if you do decide you want the hiv/aids for a little piece of mind get the bloodwork done. they're way more accurate than the home tests.. i think they actually have 20 min results now at some clinics too. last hiv test i got they i wanna say i did 2 vials at like 4pm and had the results the next day by 1.. not too much sweating time in there :)

either way good luck to you bro

I believe they now have a way to test for aids through saliva.

Yeah, they do. I actually went out and bought a Home Access Kit to take at home and then send the blood test overnight mail to their headquarters in which they will have the results for you within 3 days. A veerrrrryyyy long 3 days I might add. I'm really not sweating this too much since my overall health has been just fine except for the nagging skin condition. Just want to give myself that peace of mind. This home test is the only FDA approved home HIV test on the market with a 99.5% accuracy so it should work out alright. I would have my doc take the test but I'm in the process of picking up some individual health insurance and the last thing I need would be to be declared uninsurable due to them wondering why in the hell I would need to go take and HIV test a few days before acquiring health insurance. Kinda would throw up the red flag I think.
