any suggestions? i would hope for maybe an apology, then life imprisonment. i never was a fan of the death penalty, and im sure he would get killed in prison anyway, or at least raped twice daily. what do you guys think?

The problems I have with life imprisonment are:
1) The possibility of prisoners being released.
2) The taxpayer burden.
I think if we could make life sentences REALLY BE LIFE SENTENCES, and we can somehow reduce the burden on taxpayers (i.e. reduction of prisoner luxury... no gyms, no sports, no recreation. 8 hours of laundry or hard labor or whatever a day, time for 3 basic meals, and the remaining hours are to be spent in their cells) and keep non-criminals out of jail (i.e. drug users), then I would support life sentences over the death penalty.
The death penalty is a savage act that reflects on humanity as a species. At this point, it is unfortunately necessary. I think there are more effective, yet more humane, forms of punishment out there. Unfortunately, it seems as though humanity is not yet mature enough to pursue them. True, these vile criminals deserve death, but life is life.

in canada, i think the average is like 7 years. i hear what youre saying and i...also, jeffrey dahmer got killed whilst in prison right? so there is a good chance bin laden will too, whether by another criminal or maybe a security guard who's friend was in the WTC attacks, or whatever...probably a much more painful death too...maybe death penalty is the way to go here...havent finalized any opinions yet, myself

The thing is, bin Laden doesn't care if he dies, he'd rather that than most other punnishment. He'd consider himself a marter. It'd be worse for him if he was jailed for live and regularly gangbanged while in lockup
