bikinimom....

Went to see the surgeons today and am very pleased with them... BERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and EXTREMELY COOL... BUT I will have to have some pretty gruesome tests done as it seems that the hernia may not be the only cause of my symptoms. Not looking forward to the next few weeks AT ALL! :(

One is not so bad, just swallow some stuff in front of an w-ray.. takes about 15 minutes I am told. The second sounds worse than it is. Eating some radioactive eggs and basically sitting there for several hours while they watch to see what length of time it takes for the contents of my stomach to empty. I asked if I could have some ketchup w/my eggs. The receptionist didn't get the joke. The third is awful one as I have to stop taking medication for a full week prior. That means that I will be going through hell w/pain, nausea and basically starving... the less I eat, the less bad I feel. I shudder to think how much (or how little I should say) I will weigh when this is all said and done. Anyways, they thread a tube down my nose then end of which is in my stomach to test the PH levels there. The other end hangs out and is looped around one ear and is connected to a recording device.... Yea, like I am REALLY looking forward to that!

It was explained to me that from my description, there may be a problem with one or more of the valves in my stomach (them being too tight or just functioning improperly altogether) so if they were to perform the surgery this may actually make my symptoms worse.

The hospital is over an hour away from me each way... so I will be doing a bit of driving also.

Sucks ass but I ain't gonna die and my problems will ultimately be alleviated so perhaps I shouldn't bitch so much. Just not looking forward to it in addition to all of the other drama in my life... y'know?

You'd think with the wonders of modern medicine, one would not be reduced to eating radioactive eggs to be a factor in ANY medical examination... Your situation, I sympathize with... however, the over all story I find somewhat comical... comical in a sense that it is ironic how many advances we have in technology and we rely on the incredible edible egg for a substitute... :)

Or if it is going to be radioactive, couldn't it give you superpowers like Spiderman getting bit by the radioactive spider? or when the Flash was struck by lightning and fell onto chemicals??? No, you get to be Egg Lady... your special powers are being able to bring the sunny side up in any conversation... :)

I havent been on much, so I evidently missed whats going on health wise with you..man, I thought you were getting ready for competition, not surgery?   you dont have to go ALL into it, just a quick overview if ya dont mind......hope all is well.....you got me worried :(

Aww.....I didn't know you were sick BMom. I hope you start feeling better. Take care of yourself, I want to see ya next year at the Arnold. My friends all wanted me to tell you hello and they said to get well.

Take Good Care,
Cg

Thanx George and Luvs...

Nope, no show anytime soon. Gotta fix the gullet first - LOL! Nothing life-threatening, but when all is said and done if I manage to stay at 115# I will be pleased as punch.... (I was 138# at 12% a month ago).

I have a hiatal hernia that warrants repair. But it seems that there is more going on than just that so I have to have some tests done which for the most part are no biggie. One will be fairly gruesome (test the PH levels in my stomach), but the worst part is that I will not be able to take any proton-pump inhibitors (helps to cut down on the amount of acid produced by your stomach), no tums, zantac, or even pepto-bismol for A FULL WEEK before the test. Which means that I will not be able to eat much AT ALL and the pain and nausea will be very intense.

The upshot is that all this will be over soon. I have faith in these docs as they are experienced and VERY COOL. So we will fix me up right quick and I will be able to have a life.

I am not looking forward to looking like a poster child for a third world charity, but it won't be forever.... it will only seem like it. LOL

So if I post up asking for a laugh please guys do your best to post up inane shit to make me smile....

THANX! :D
