Big DJ's in tiny clubs, why?

I've been to a few shows over the past couple months, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez, Danny Howells, Paul Okenfold.

For whatever reason, other than Howells, the rest were in tiny ass clubs that could barely fit a few hundred people. Sanchez was in one of the smallest clubs in town! Ticket prices were nice and big, but why in such small spaces? What about other cities, are they big venues or is there not enough demand for this type of music where you live?

Most people probably haven't even heard of these dj's in vancouver, I've already figured that out. Top 40 clubs are the thing here, get drunk, start shit, act like you're the hardest mofo in town, go home and realize you still live with your parents.

the Djs might enjoy the energy from a small club, or it might be a slow time for them and some $ is better thatn none.
