Bicep Strain

I strained my right bicep doing preacher curls back in September, 05. At first I ignored the pain because it wasn't very severe. Later as I continued to lift the pain grew worse. I stopped lifting weights for three weeks than started lifting again. After a couple of weeks the pain was back. Anyway, I did this on again off again for several months. Recently, I went to the specialist who diagnosed me with a bicep strain. I haven't lifted any weights now for two months and I'm going crazy. The docor gave me 600 MG Ibruprofen and strict orders to do no weights. But after two months my bicep still stings at times. Anybody here have any advice, ideas, etc. I want to return to weight lifting!!

Where is the pain. Is it at the bottom of your bicep by the inside of your elbow? If so, it is a tendon issue.
 
The pain is generally in my actual bicep area between the elbow and my shoulder. Sometimes the pain goes into the elbow and my upper shoulder.
 
That sucks. I was told I had a "bicept tendon strain". I did rehab and all. Then I went to a renowned sports dr. who told me there is no such thing as a tendon strain. He looked at the MRI and found a small tear. The rehab I had done just gave me micro tears over and over. My bicep tendon is healed now but it covered in scar tissue. Not good.
