I take protein immediately after workout...but, you should be safe to get it in within an hour to an hour and a half...and by sugars you mean?
And the gram amount of protein needss to fit what you have set for yourself...I take 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight....
I split that up into 6 times a day...meals mostly...but i do slam a shake or 2....dont drink to much protein at once, or nurse it a bit, or you may crap it out...
