Best Preventative measure for stretchmarks?

Lift Chief

New member
I'm drinking a lot of water and using cocoa butter lotion as well... but the small stretchmarks i have seem to be getting bigger.

Would mederma or anything like that help at all to PREVENT stretchmarks from occuring? I have small ones under my arms and i'm looking to keep them as small as i can.

Any help receives my karma juice.

ive heard that retin-a works well also...........because of how it repairs the skin or something not real sure but thats what ive heard

Read this loud and clear:

You have to put the oil on BEFORE you dry off after a shower or bath... or getting out of a pool. You get the stretch marks in a split second when your skin dries and doesn't have any oil.

This is a trick women use when they are prgnant. They keep the oil right there in the shower... and put it on before they step out and dry off.

Makes sense. Put what oil?... are you referring to retin-a cream?

Nope... I used to use standard massage oil... but I avoided baby oil... never used retin A. Almond oil was always my oil of choice.

Also, grab a cheap bottle of NA-PCA. It is the only substance that puts moisture back into skin. Using NA-PCA and almond oil together is the double whammy.

When I'm on cycle I try to avoic soap on my skin as much as possible. Soap is what blanches the oils out of your skin.

Baby oil my man, wife has had three kids and she's the strech mark champion, not a one....she did the following.... lotion like hand lotion first thing in the morning, after a shower baby oil, afternoon hand lotion again, at bed time baby oil and she waited till it absorbed before she went to bed.

Vitamin E helped me immensely when I was trying to get my existing stretchmarks to fade. It really didn't do much to keep new ones from forming though.

Mederma is also said to be good, but I haven't used it.

Retin-a has helped me the most out of anything. It's the only drug that actually stimulates collagen synthesis in the skin. Stretch marks are caused when the skin's rate of growth is faster than the growth of the collagen.

Daily application of retin-a combined with a little tanning almost completely hides my stretch marks. You have to look closely in order to tell I ever had them. I haven't gotten a single new one even though I've definitely been adding size.

mederma is really expensive, depending on how big ur stretchmarks are u can go through those tubes pretty bad. I use shea butter cream with vitamin E after i shower, i have a lot between my biceps and chest, seems to make them fade a little, but people can still notice them. Ive gotten to the poiint where i dont give a fuck though.

My sister swears by cocoa butter oil, she lathered it on during pregnancy and no stretch marks. You also want to make sure your skin is moisturized, not only from the outside but inside as well. Drinking a ton of water helps, as well as making sure you are getting good fats in your diet i.e. EFA, Olive Oil, Flax and etc. With this routine, I have managed to prevent stretch marks. But in the end, it may just come down to genetics.

BTW, Retin-a is prescription only. I had to convince my doctor to prescribe it for acne, and she did it even though the acne isn't that bad. It's typically prescribed for cystic acne and such (works GREAT for clearing up my shoulders on cycle).

most docs dont care bout perscribing it thought because it is not abused. its not like going in and asking for a script for gear.

are all your guys stetch marks undder ur amrs and by your biceps? and do any of u guys get them on the outside of your quads? lkike higher part of the qauds?

The only way I see not to get stretch marks is to not work out. I think it is highly genetic so matter how much lotion you use you will probably still get them from gaining size. I gave up on trying to stop them from forming. I look at them as battle scars now.lol Oh well, I guess it wouldn't hurt trying lotions anyway. I've tried mederma in the past and it has lightened them up significantly.

Yup. Stopping gaining weight for a while. Let your body adjust to the weight gain.
