Yep, I like mine......

Anyone using a blackberry out there? I just found out the new job is offering me a choice between the blackberry and a desktop OR I can choose to just get a laptop. I imagine I wont need to use another PDA with a blackberry.

What would you choose? Blackberry/Desktop OR LAptop.

laptop all the way, many more functions than a PDA plus can be used as a regular PC. Only downside is gaming/graphics but there are ways around it. Plus a laptop you can bring wiht you and watch dvds or listen to music on plane trips!

Good Points Advaik, But they are a bitch to carry and I get email all day long and it is a pain in the ass to use dial up when I am on the road and have to check email 3x per day

Blackberry's are very very nice (when they are working right)
Frequent lockups and non delivery of mail
Expensive
flacky due to all the stuff they have to integrate to
Cell models even have issues.

I would go with a Laptop if that is all you get.
Sony Vaio- smallest model, so you get all the Win/Net functionality and a usable screen space.

PDA's and Blackberries are secondary to a real workstation for use when you are away from your desk.

I have the IPAQ 5455 with a 256MB secure digital.

Other then the occasional lockups and the few total crashes it’s OK. If you have two computers (work and home) it’s pretty much a data transfer device. The features I use most frequently are the calendar sync and the notes. The contact list could be better and group them so you only see what you want.

Forget 3rd party programs on this thing. I have put in many and only few work like they are advertised if they work at all. The ones that do work are buggy as hell.

Use it as is out of the box and you will be fine.

Ive got the Toshiba e805..

Just about has the best specs out there.. 400 mhz xscale processor, 128mb ram, 64 mb rom.

It has a 4" VGA 480x640 screen, wifi built in (US), and a Compact Flash and SD slot for memory and add-ons.

Toshiba ships the pda with only a couple of programs able to run in VGA mode, but there are a couple hacks out that go around their protection and allow you to run programs in VGA mode, portrait or landscape..

I bought my girl an ipaq 4155 for christmas, it is also 400mhz xscale with built in wifi and bluetooth, it is very small and very nice.. My toshiba is nicer but bigger..
