So I was an idiot and overdid things a bit at the gym the other day, and right now I can barely walk. Actually, I don't think there's a part of my body in the torso area that isn't screaming at me right now. I have aleve but I don't know if that's the best thing for this kind of pain. Help!

I have prescription naproxin (Aleve), they're 600mg, the otc Aleve are what 200mg, I'd take 3, shit works wonders for me...

lol @ Advil
advil wont help muscle soreness
it will help however if you have inflammation in your joints, tendons, etc
its an anti-inflammatory

the best thing you could do for extreme muscle soreness is smoke some delicious marijuana.. that will most definately beat advil or aleve or anything else on the market..

you'll also have a great sleep!

a light workout seems to help to move the lactic acid out of the sore muscle areas for me.

call me wierd, but i like the "slightly sore" muscle feeling....

I haven't smoked in years, but now I almost wish I did.

no time like to present to take it back up for a short period.. I actually all but mostly stopped myself for a while.. until I started working out really hard again.. too bad they can't put it in a pill would be a very effective pain killer.

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness - Causes

Delayed onset muscle soreness is thought to be a result of microscopic tearing of the muscle fibers. The amount of tearing (and soreness) depends on how hard and how long you exercise and what type of exercise you do.

Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness - Treatment

There is no one simple way to treat delayed onset muscle soreness. In fact, there has been an ongoing debate about both the cause and treatment of DOMS. In the past, gentle stretching was one of the recommended ways to reduce exercise related muscle soreness, but a study by Australian researchers published in 2007 found that stretching is not effective in avoiding muscle soreness.
