Ive been looking around and it seems alot of people like datekonline, ameritrade, but I havent really found many others....Anyone know of any? Or have any recommendations of online trading firms?

I use sharebuilder.com, it's $4 per transaction. The only drawback is that the transactions aren't done in real time. They only buy once a week. So let's say you put an order on Friday, they don't actually buy it until Tuesday. They offer realtime transactions for $16 if you want it.

That's a good idea-it keeps people from day trading and encourages long term investment. I wouldn't mess around with any of that online trading. Ive had multiple accounts and made some cash, and lost more. Put your money into a good mutual fund. It diversifies the risk compared to direct investing.

quick and reilly, suretrade (well, suretrade was absorbed by Q&R), ETrade, Fidelity, Brown and Co...

and many banks that offer online services also offer trading via that route as well.
