Here's my top 5 -

1) Nas - Illmatic
2) Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
3) Wu Tang - Enter the 36 Chambers
4) Mobb Deep - Infamous
5) Outkast - Aquemini

I don't think there's any qestion that Motown's 1991 release of Another Bad Creation's "Coolin' at the Playground Ya' Know!" pioneered rap as we know it today. Had it not been for Michael Bivins' vision, the world might not have never heard the innovative and bumptastic beats that came out of this Atlanta hiphop quintet.

ABC (another bad creation) had a song called Aiesha. you remember it? i think the chorus went something like, "Aieshaaaaa, you were the girl that i never had...."

i shit you not i sent ABC a blank cassette tape along with a hand written letter asking if they could record the song on that tape but i wanted them to replace the name Aiesha, with jill. jill was my 2nd grade crush and i was willing to do anything to win her over.

ABC never sent the tape, or an explanation for that matter. i'm guessing it was cuz jill only has 1 syllable and aiesha has 3.

I'll chime in:

1. Dr. Dre - The Chronic
2. Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
3. 2Pac - All Eyez on Me
4. Warren G - Regulate... The G Funk Era
5. Busta Rhymes - The Coming

2Pac - All eyez on me
Public Enemy - Fear of a black planet
Biggie - Ready to die
Wu Tang - 36 chambers
BDP - Edutainment

Run DMC - Tougher than leather

Hulk you are right about Tougher Than Leather... all I have is the tape from wayyy back... how could I have forgotten

Tougher than Leather over Raising Hell??

Raising Hell was the pinnacle of RUN DMC's career. I did like Tougher than Leather, but it just didn't have the commercial success that RH did.

Black Moon - Enta da stage
Wu Tang - Enter the 36 Chambers
De La Soul - De La Soul is Dead
Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill
Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels and the Path of Rhythm

NWA - Straight Outta Compton
Anything when the RZA rhymes except Bobby Digi's crap. peace

#1 for me is Niggaz4life by N.W.A that bumps just a much as anything today. And that was the 1st CD where Dr. Dre took it to another level with beats.

2. 2pac - Better Dayz
3. Snoop Dogg - Doggie Style
4. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready 2 Die
5. Slick Rick - The Great Adventures of Slick Rick
6. Nice N Smooth - self title. Back in 88' they dropped one of the best ones I ever heard but just worse and worse until they just dispeared. Pisses me off because I can't find the CD in stores or online.
