Best and worst rock classics?

I liked Stairway to Heaven the first 100,000 times I heard it. I think that now, that would have to my least favorite. Jimi Hendrix is my all time favorite but the stuff they always play like Purple Haze or Foxy Lady is right up there with Stairway. My favorite Jimi is more along the lines of Pali Gap, Hey Baby (Land of a New Rising Sun) or Axis. Those are all the goods.

Best classic tunes:
Zeppelin - Stairway
Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Doors - Waiting for the Sun

Worst:
Foghat - Slow Ride
Anything by Bob Dylan

Deep Purple - Highway Star

Good call on the Foghat.

I think I will add anything by Boston to the worst.

How can you not like slow ride? Awesome song alot better than stupid mellow ass pink floyd. Also what about Like a Rolling Stone that is a cool song. And stairway to heaven is so burned out if I never heard it again it would be to soon.

You don't here dylan as much as you do stairway to heaven and floyd.

Only 20 years - hell anything after 84 qualifies - that is like 70% of what I listen too...

Eagles - Life in the fast lane - my favorite I think of all time...

ACDC qualifies now right? Dirty Deeds!

Stones - Paint it black, Sypathy for the devil
Zepplin - Immigrant song
Doors - Riders on the storm
Van Halen - Hot for teacher (just slips in)
Jethro Tull, Clapton, Floyd, Dire Straits, The Who, Aerosmith, Santana, Hendrix.... too many good tunes to list..

ok, here's my funny story about meeting bob dylan.
i was visiting my dad in california and we were out shopping. he sees one of his many strange friends on the street and introduces him as "bob".
I was probably 20 years old (i'm old now) and totally didn't recognize him as anyone other than another ex hippie.
Later that night, we're having dinner and someone asks if we had a good time. dad says "oh yeah, she met bob dylan today."
WHAT??? I DID???
it was pretty funny at the time.
anyway, i rarely hear stairway to heaven. and nomatter how much the beatles are played, i never seem to get sick of it. elton john stuff either.

Pretty funny story. Btw How old are ya? Age is relative now you know. It depends on how old other people you are talking to are.

Old Van Halen (prior to the 1984 album)
ELO
Led Zeppelin - too many to list (except black dog and stairway to heaven - too overplayed), but I do like the tie between Heartbreaker and Livin' Lovin Maid
The Band - Up on Cripple Creek
Beatles - Paperback Writer, Helter Skelter
Elton John - Levon (go ahead and call me a homo)
Mountain - Mississippi Queen (fucking a)
Moody Blues - Question (I really like the way this song starts off)
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Any Black Sabbath with Ozzy
Guess Who - American Woman
The Who - We're not Gonna Take it (sounded cool when they played it on Howard Stern during the FCC bullshit)

Best-there is way too many to mention.

A few would be: Anything Zeppelin, on of my all time favorite bands. To name a couple not posted yet...Black Dog. Lemon Song. Communication Breakdown. Whole Lotta Love. Kashmir.

You can't forget Ozzy/Black Sabbath.. Paranoid and Crazy Train...:)

And goodness wouldn't the first releases by Metallica qualify. Like Seek and Destroy?

Worst...not too many named yet. I hate Queen. Always have. So #1 on my list has to be the Bohemian Rhasposdy. Will this song ever die? :)

Or what about Styx. Mr Roboto; Kansas- Carry on my Wayward Son; Jefferson Airplane- White Rabbit; The Who -Pinball Wizard;Ted Nugent -Cat Scratch Fever.

I agree on all these as well.. good picks

These are in my opinion, so they are absolutely correct.

Best: Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody

Worst: Lynyrd Skynyrd: Freebird (Many are valid here, but for the sake of me not wanting to think of too many bad songs as my brain would start to smoke a la a looney tunes episode, I'll name this one)
