Got to get your hands on a caliper! You use it to measure your %

Haha I like how we're relegated to looking at someone to get an estimate on BF but I guess it's as good as any other of the easier methods. If you can't find a trained professional to measure your skin folds then yes stevesmi is right you're just as well off having someone experienced giving you an educated guess.

Find a scale that allows you to enter your age. Based on your age and weight it will give you an accurate body fat % lmao

Haha oh yeah I forgot about those futuristic scales, or maybe if your gym is really on it's tech shit they'll have one of those gadgets you hold out in front of you, but make sure to grip it hard as you can and keep your arms super straight or else you won't get a spot on reading. I'm 260 at 2.8% according to those things and that seemed about right to me haha

Based on this: Body Fat Percentage Calculator ** Recommended for You

Results:
Using your measurements of a 40 inches waist and weight of 240 pounds your body fat percentage we calculated using FOUR different methods. Your body fat estimates are 18.49 % using the U.S. Army body fat algorithm, or
9.80 % using the U.S. Marine body fat algorithm, or
14.64 % using the U.S. Navy body fat algorithm, or
14.77 % using the formula developed by the YMCA.
These methods are not as accurate as a water displacement test, but is usually within 1-3% for most people. If you have a very small waist, it will show a low value. On the other hand, if you carry all your extra weight around your middle, you may have an elevated percentage. Please note that having this extra weight in the middle is a high risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The waist to hip ratio calculator can give you more information.
Men are typically lower in body fat percentage, averaging around 23%, with an ideal of about 15%. Highly fit athletes are between 5-10%. Remember these are guidelines; your physician should help you determine the ideal weight and body fat for you.

So at 18.49% i have some work to do!!

Lol I was joking on my post. If you are around average it might be close to accurate. But when I was in the military every meat head would come out with a moderate obesity rating. Lol they were huge and shredded and they'd be told they need to drop weight. Shit cracked me up everytime.

Apparently not even close according to the body fat calculator on the scale at the gym. My trainer guessed 33% and the scale said 30%. I'm 53 and feel something is wrong. My metabolism has slowed. I used to be able to eat and drink whatever and not gain a pound. That's changing as I get older. Now I have this (seemingly) impossible belly fat that doesn't want to give no matter what I try. I'm busting my ass in the gym, eating clean and more. I'm on around 380 test c/week and I am using TestStack and GW-501516. Could it be my thyroid? I've read that an underactive thyroid is one of the most misdiagnosed in the U.S for folks 50+. Frustrated here.

I'm not doctor, but yes, it seems a sluggish thyroid is an epidemic these days. Most people I know find it hard to get doctors to test their thyroid though.

But I'd be more concerned about you diet. What is a "clean" diet for you? And your metabolism is in the garbage. Years of eating like that has most likely slowed things down alot.

Also, what are your daily calories? People always think they're eating the right amount. But when you actually weigh your food you may find you are way over your daily calorie needs. Or you could be too low. And what are your macros? Please don't tell me your clean diet is a crap no carb diet. What rate are you dropping weight? How is your strength in the gym? Are you maintaining or loosing strength? And what is your rountine? Days/week and heavy weight or high repetition crap?
