i've received some in that condition also (chalky, some crumbled), but they were legit, worked fine. in my experience, when not in original package, tend to be chalky.

thanks for the reply! cool...it came from europe and was taped to look like an envelope and put in an envelope. Anyone else seen some bd anaver that looks like this? can i send it to get tested anywhere?

I've seen quite a few packages of BD var and that come from online European pharmacies that were in terrible condition when they arrive. They looked like the postman stepped on them several times before he delivered them. Most good sources will take the time to package them correctly where this won't happen.

you should have checked if your supplier was BD approved. You can check on BDs website..
