ask her if she smokes or drinks while pregnant if there can be side effects.. or if she takes drugs. etc.
there are so many factors involved with having a baby.. people who do everything right can have issues, and people who do everything wrong can have a healthy baby. its crazy.
there are more problems even with all the advancements in childbirth with defects. for example more kids are autistic or having mental issues like ADD etc. this has more to do with environmental factors.
as a fisherman i am well aware of the dangers of the lead used in weights. when i was younger i remember using my mouth to tighten a split shot, and i fell very ill. there are warnings on lead weights saying they can cause birth defects for example.. and you can't tell me there isn't lead in the water which we drink. so there are many problems that can arise besides AAS use which is merely male hormones. i would be more concerned with other things IMO
