I've been using Vitamin B5 for acne and it has honestly worked wonders. I can even say once I've started I didn't even break out once except for the occasional one on my back.
I've been reading on the boards of how people have had success with supplementing with zinc. I've always taken 50mg/ed of zinc but I thought I'd take a chance and up it to 150mg/ed. Since I've done this (the past 6 days) I've had multiple acne lesions on my face and back even though I supplemented with B5.
I stopped the zinc completely two days ago and continued with B5 and have noticed the acne subsiding greatly.
So the question is: Should I continue zinc even with the mild outbreaks? Is it somehow increasing my blood test and thus causing hormonal fluctuations that is causing me to break out?
Any ideas?
