Personally I find the best bars are in the warehouse district which is around 4th and Congress etc. It's all close to 6th and if ya don't feel like walking the extra blocks a cab is only a couple of bucks or take one of those bicycle cabs....kinda quaint.

the driskel is really close to all the action. like star mentioned, there are a couple of nice places in the wharehouse district, which isn't that far of a walk. sky lounge is really nice, but is pricey as well. it's on 4th and congress.

Driskol is very $$$$ but very nice. You can walk everywhere. 6th street is young 20-30 and will be very rowdy this weekend with UT football. Every bar is different so you will find what your into. Cheers is a shot bar and I like pool so I hang at Buffalo Billiards. Star mentioned 4th street which is close and you have Fado 9 Irish bar very crowded) Cedar Street ( live music $ 5.00 cover) over on 5th you have Whiskey Bar ( 28-35) Lucky Lounge and Red Taz ( Think thats the name) Its a cool place inside semi classy. Have fun play safe.
