would u recommend a r6 for a newbie? i really dont want an r6 tho...i can do 8k...

well i dont know your background with bikes...if your an ex dirt rider/racer or something along those lines, then a 600cc bike is alot wiser choice than the liter bike...the liter bike will be difficult to manage (R1)...they have scary power that wont allow you to learn what you need to IMO being new to the sport....mistakes made on a liter bike will cause grave results...the 600 HP racers are no slouch however, they do what liter bikes of old did...you can find yourself in trouble due to lack of respect for the 600...again, the fastest guys i ride with are on 600cc bikes.

really my suggestion would be a mild sport bike/cruiser, and not a race replica...the R6- CBR 600RR- Yamaha YZR 600R- are race bikes with lights mounted on them...they are track/race ready...you however are not...be careful...pick something to have fun on first, dont worry about keeping up with friends or the other guys for awhile until you get your feet wet...

good advice...i dont have any experience with bikes i just like how the exhaust is on the r1. i will definitely got with a 600...oh and aap what are you talking about bro? perm? socks? sandals? and im good how are you

Back in college when i was buying and selling a lot of motorcycles I just loved newbie riders who went the liter root or who even better bought hyabusas!

mainly because i went to the insurance auction on the second monday of each month and could pick up bikes they totaled for just a few hundred bucks, fix them and sell them as salvage title bikes.

point being, don't be one of those guys man, get you a 600 first

I wouldn't ride an R1 now and I'm not a rookie. You want a new R1 for 5 or 6k? You could probably afford to spend more on a bike if you put down that crack pipe. :) If you're new to the street then a used 600 would probably be a wiser choice. Honda F4s and F4is are awesome bikes to play on, even for experienced riders. They have more than enough power so you won't 'outgrow' it anytime soon. You can usually find a used one in great shape in your price range. And you won't even have to give up the crack, but I would recommend it. :)

the GSX-R 600 thats a few years old you could get away with...it was not up to par with the other 600's- it was down on power comparitively speaking- but handled nicely, not razor sharp like the others but still more aggressive than a cruiser...Dirty~D had some good advice...the Honda F4 and F4i is a sweet ride and always in demand- meaning you can sell it at any time....both of these will fit your price range easily.

thanks for the K- no need however....bike advice is always free bro.
