Hard to determine what info. on the internet is credible and what is not. Anyway, I found this one interesting since I am a fan of OX - hope it's correct:

Liver Toxicity

Oxandrin seems to challenge some of the other stereotypes of what’s wrong with anabolic steroids, too. While common anabolic steroids that are in oil-based injectable form are known to be non-toxic to the liver, oral steroids like Oxandrin, which are in a family of compounds dubbed "17-alpha alkylated", are generally thought to be "liver toxic". Is this "liver toxicity" actually real? Well, studies that show Oxandrin’s overall "liver safety" raise some compelling questions about whether 17-alpha-alkylation is really so "liver toxic" after all. For instance, in studies using Oxandrin with alcoholic hepatitis patients published in the prestigious publications New England Journal of Medicine and Hepatology, using dosages that in the past would be considered to be about 4 to 8 times the recommended dosage (40 and 80 milligrams a day), oxandrolone was so therapeutically beneficial, that liver function improved approximately 20% in one patient group and one year mortality was reduced in another patient group by over 500 percent 1, 2 !

17-AA is toxic to the liver, but for some reason the body is able to produce an enzyme that will break down the bond of oxandrolone. I would be interested to see what the liver effects would be if one were to take huge amounts of ox. Like say 80mg/day for 6 weeks. That amount would more than likely have a detrimental affect on your liver.

But all in all, ox is pretty damn mild and pretty effective. It's a shame it's so exorbitant.

so what ur saying is that we could actually use ox to help our livers out. in that case throw away ur bottles of milk thistle people. its ox time.

lol jacob - I am not saying anything. It is a cut-&-paste directly from the article.

I was thinking same thing though...here I am killing myself to avoid beers while 'On" and then I read it actually helps the liver.

Very confusing.

This is an old study that has been posted many times. I don't have the medical background to dispute or critic it, but keep in mind the subjects used. These were people with advanced liver disease and and in seriously bad health. What is an improvement for them might not be desirable to a otherwise healthy individual.
