Are you optimistic, negative, or a realist?

People get on me for being negative but I claim that I am a realist (which is closer to being negative than optimistic). I kind of think being overly positive is extremely dangerous.

My glass is half full.

holy fuckin shit, stop the bus

this is what I base my life on

inside I am a happy person, but since nothing ever goes the ways its planned, nor many good things ever happen to myself or anyone I come in contact with, I am pessimist/realist/negative

and becuase things never work out correctly I am always nay saying them, becuase if it doesnt work out I say "told ya so", but then if it actually does work out I am completely astonished and am so completely happy, it rules

I have been told I am completely blunt, and I do not sugar coat things, I tell it the way it is

plus I am middle class and always get fucked by the govt anyway I look at it, so that could be where it stemms from

this is the way I decided to live my life when I was a child and I would get all pumped for my Little League games (I hit the game-winning double in the bottom of the last inning, 2 outs, 3-2 to win the championship so there!) and it would rain when I got to the park and the dipshit umps would call the game. shit pissed me off, yo.

I'm an honest curmudgeon.

Neither an optimist nor a pessimist. And too 'in your face' to be a realist.

I don't think so. I think I was being serious, but you can never tell.

It depends on the situation. If it concerns someone else, I am as optimistic as they come. If it deals with my own stuff, I have a tendancy to be a bit pessimistic. I would called it being a realist, but not all agree with me.

Pretty much always optimistic about things even when things go kind of shitty seems to work out for the best in the end.

I put on a really good optimistic front...always pointing out the best in bad situations, I am the person with the "go ahead" attitude when the chips are down and I have always been the "cheerleader" type to friends and co-workers trying to lift their morale and give them the motivation to continue on...

However, inside I am very much a realist. It seems for some people it is comforting to have people tell them a situation or whatever is not as bad as it may appear...for me it is more motivating to be able to assess the situation on my own and come up with a logical plan attack..."sugar-coated facades" makes me nervous...
