are they really getting the money?

Are the people of New Orleans really getting the help they need from the Red Cross and other agencies? I tried to donate water and supplies here in Oklahoma and all they wanted was my cash. Do yo think all of the donated cash is used to help these people or is it lining some dudes pocket?

The Red Cross got into some trouble after 9-11 because not all of the money donated post 9-11 was used in thier disaster relief fund for 9-11. United Way actually mishandled thier money, siphoning some of the disaster money off to Planned Parenthood, and other fringe charities.

i dont know. but as with everything else, i am sure that some of the money will be used to fund other things associated with the red cross. their administrators have to paid. sounds like bullshit to me, but thats the world we live in. only speculating here, but i would imagine about 60 cents of everydollar goes to new orleans in on way, shape, or form.

We're doing a change drive at work, all proceeds will go to the RedCross. Guy comes in today and wants to give us a check for $300 but he wants it made out to the RedCross. We can't accept it because we aren't the RedCross and we can't transact business in their name. Kind of sucks....$300 isn't a huge amount but still.

Did some checking.......The united way director in Oklahoma makes $350,000 dollars a year. The red cross director $200,000.

i know that both are big operations, and require a great amount of skill to run them, but that is alot of money.
