are smart women intimidating?

and add to that a smart and attractive woman is actually not an easy thing to be... esp. when working with other women... usually unattractive and less intelligent women.

it's the damn truth or i wouldn't say it...

I know, it's hard to be humble, etc.

Let's assume that you are correct, just for the sake of argument. I would have two comments/questions that I consider fair ones:

1) Why would such an attractive and intelligent woman spend so much of her surely limited and valuable time posting meaningless drivel?

2) Why do women often assume men are intimidated by them, when in fact they just don't like them?

well, i am on my computer at work and school constantly so i multi-task. right now i'm working on a brochure for homework.

and whom are you referring to in that last one? women don't like men or men don't like women?

that was an odd quotation for you to use since i was referring to women working with other women in that one... but ok. i was saying initially that i have been told by men that my intellect and appearance intimidates them. it has been several men who've told me this, so i thought i would throw it out to the masses.

In point 2 I was referring to many women I've met over the years that assume they aren't asked out more because men find them intimidating. Often times these women are not as attractive as they'd like to think and that explains why they don't get asked out. Has nothing to do with intimidation.

well according to several men, in my case it is not.

but you can have your opinion. it doesn't really matter to me. :)

i've been told by a few guys that i am intimidating because i'm smart... yeah i hear the flames coming. believe you me i actually have a couple of brain cells to rub together. :)

my question remains... is this true? if so, why?

It's true for dumbass guys. Guys are usually intimidated by anything that a girl is better at. Luckily this rarely happens.

Hmm.. humans are horribly bad at multi-tasking. It's been shown that even after a slight distraction, it can take you up to 15min to get back to doing productive work. This is definitely true for my line of work.

Maybe if you get your stuff done sooner (ie, disable your multi-tasking), you can go out or something. Just a tip, muffin :)
