As an American. . . I say. . . probably 50 percent reasonably smart and 50 percent straight up dumb.
Then again, other countries the majority are illiterate and uneducated (Arab/Asian/Latin American Nations).

Everyone is jumping down this poor dentally hygeine challenged Brits throat, but in many ways he is correct. Some individuals take no pride in their writing, spelling, syntax, or construction of lucid sentences. While for most people this is not a big deal as long as the message is semi-clear, others who have not been inundated with slang and piss poor writing may find it alarming.
I taught English for 3 years... I was amazed to see students turning in papers that had "cuz" intead of "because"... or adding "and stuff." to the end of sentences. Some papers were so horrible that it wasn't a matter of correcting them, but sending the fucker back to grade school.

There were so many it is hard to remember... I had one paper that did not have single use of any punctuation. One huge sentence with a bunch of "ands" in it. The ones with poor grammar were just very difficult to read...
I had one student do a research paper on steroids and he actually stated that the steroids are "shot up the anus." I told him that was inaccurate and he had no sources listed. "Oh.. I just talked to some buddies who did them." Of course he got an F. He picked the wrong topic to try to bullshit me.

It's not that I think everyone should have perfect grammar on here... I probably have more typing errors than the average member.
It's just such a blatantly obvious error that EVERYONE here seems to make.
I mean if someone says "I could be bothered to do it" when they meant the complete opposite, that surely shows a serious lack of thinking. I just wondered if people actually knew they were making a mistake.
