After coming off a test prop/Primobolan cycle i went on a Tanita scale which i had bf% of 17% how accurate are these Tanita scales because i am pretty vascular.
 
Can you see clearly, not fuzzily, defined abs without having to flex the crap out of yourself?

If the answer is 'yes' then I'd say not accurate at all otherwise fairly accurate.

I sell medical equipment. It depends on which type of scale you're talking about. Do you have a model? Some models have settings for athletic/average builds, and that affects the reading.
 
I've been pretty vascular at 20+% BF................so you can be FAT and still vascular based on your body.

As stated above - how visable are your abs?

I haven't seen mine in YEARS
 
I think those things are crap. You can step on it and get a reading then drink a glass od water and in 5 minutes get a completely differetn reading. The reading will change throughout the day. I guess if your going to rely on one of them the best thing to do is get a reading directly when you wake up every morning before drinking any fluid. I still think they are crap though. Just my 2 cents.

ahh yes, this is the most accurate test for body fat. Do you have university near you? they many times will do this type of test.

I do not go on scale anymore, I do leg training and next day am weight 3-5 lbs more then previous day so I get mad and throw away scale.

I am more visual person so I look in mirror and say ahhh Selene you are looking fat today! or Selene you are looking good today! this works best for me mon cheri ;)

As stated above - it really depends on the model of the scale. The Tanita that I use allows the selection of athletic mode, which is more accurate for those carrying more muscle mass. Mine also calculates body water %.

It may not be the most accurate tool to determine actual body fat %, but under the right conditions it's a great tool for assessing changes. You need to be consistent in your measurement. I use the scale at the same time every day - first thing in the morning when I wake up. You need to be sure your bladder is empty, and don't drink anything before getting on the scale. I also use the scale before showering. Getting your feet wet will affect the measurement. Also, be sure you don't have fat girl feet - a huge build up of dead skin that needs to be taken down the a belt sander. Use a pumice stone and keep your skin healthy - it will seriously affect the accuracy. Your hydration level will also play a big role. The body fat % will read higher in the morning because you're dehydrated from sleeping without fluid intake.
 
Scales are good but better when used and getting bf tested by someone who knows how.Without knowing if you are gaining fat or losing muscle a scale to me is pointless.
