Anyone work in Management Consulting?

Going on an interview at one tomorrow - One of the "top 4" companies so not exclusively management consulting. I have been warned that in general hours are extremely long and travel is extensive. I wanted to know if anyone has had experience in these roles before.

If you are going to a Deloitte or Anderson type firm then yes you will work your ass off and most likely get stuck traveling to your clients. I have been in the game for awhile now so I don't have to deal with it anymore. If you are young and starting out expect to travel Sunday night and head back home on Thursday night. Typical schedule is M-Th on site at a client for the most part. Friday's are in office or at home.

As a consultant you are really not expected to deliver anything other than intellectual property. Well I can't even remember how many power point presentations I have put together for $500 an hour. Only real deliverable which is a joke.

You are advising your client about a service or product and they make the decisions one way or the other.
